Cinnamon Lady Edwards

Beloved companion for so long of Lauren Edwards.

Lauren wrote on her Facebook page:

Today I say goodbye to my best friend of over 15 years. The first time we met, we connected. We understood one another. She quickly grew to be an indispensable member of our family.

Cinnamon became our reason to get up before sunrise, to sweep and vacuum everyday, and not to leave our shoes out overnight. She ran away to go swimming in filthy lakes, challenged every dog on our block (undefeated!), and ruined the left pant leg of every pair of pants I owed between the 8th and... 10th grade. Her hair was all over every piece of black clothing, she always managed to be in the way, and her obsession with birds and squirrels in our yard made up crazy. And yet, she was so much more than that.

Cinny was my wrestling partner, my marathon trainer, an insistent exfoliator, a seat warmer and a bouncer. Also, she was an acrobat, a backup garbage disposal, my tanning buddy, was the unofficial mascot to my high school basketball team and never once failed to greet me when I got home from school.

My favorite memories are of her running on our farm in Georgia and eating cake from our great grandmother's hands.

She was a watcher and a listener, my father's shadow, my mother's guardian, the energy equal to my sister, and the keeper of all my secrets. She was a sarcastic, energic force who was fiercely independent and loving to a fault. She taught me the real meaning of true love, unconditional acceptance, the value in someone who is ALWAYS happy to see you and was a shining example of how to age with dignity.

Cinnamon Lady Edwards, thank you for being a perfect companion. You will be so missed.
